New Nordic School at Dubai’s Expo 2020
On October 1st, the long-awaited Expo 2020 is opening its doors in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. Despite the year-long delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Expo 2020 is hoping to attract 25 million guests from around the world. The theme of Expo 2020 Dubai is ‘Connecting Minds and Creating the Future’, which is divided into sustainability, mobility, and opportunity districts.
Finland’s ‘Snow Cape’ Pavilion
Finland’s pavilion is one of the 191 country pavilions at the Expo. Located in the Mobility district, the ‘Snow Cape’ pavilion designed by JKMM Architects resembles an Arabic tent made of snow. Finland pavilion’s theme for Expo 2020 is Sharing future happiness.
“Finnish happiness is based on the symbiosis of people, nature and technology. This deep connection is the origin of the quality of everyday Finnish life and the Finland pavilion communicates this happiness by taking visitors on a journey through Finland’s key strengths; nature and sustainability, education and know-how and functionality and wellbeing.” (Source: Finland Pavilion at Expo 2020)
From October 1st, 2021 to March 31st, 2022, Finnish companies, including New Nordic School, will be exhibiting and sharing their expertise and know-how in the Finland Pavilion.
